With today being St David's Day, The Green Man Festival has announced that Welsh festival Swn will host a stage there this summer.
Green Man will team up with Radio 1 DJ Huw Stephens and Swn promoter John Rostron to bring a little bit of their Cardiff based festival to the Black Mountains for the 10th anniversary festival this summer.
Swn will take over the Walled Garden Stage at Green Man 2012 on Friday 17th August 17th with a curated line-up including Lucy Rose, Kwes, Mowbird, Valdoinmessico, No Thee No Ess, Chailo Sim, Joanna Gruesome, Sen Segur, Greta Isaac, and more to be announced, as well as a team of DJs to round off the day.
Swn Festival is an urban, multi-venue three-day event that takes place across Cardiff each October (18th-21st this year), and they also promote gigs all year round under the Swn name.
Organisers Huw Stephens and John Rostron said, Swn is delighted to be hosting the stage on Friday at Green Man! We have been fans of the festival and the music it hosts for years, and so to bring some of our favourite new artists to the stunning site this year is a total joy."
Feist will headline Sunday, The Walkmen, The Felice Brothers, Yann Tiersen, Jonathan Richman, Junior Boys, Damien Jurado, Time and Space Machine, Cass McCombs, Scritti Politti, Slow Club, GhostPoet, Peter Paphides, Peaking Lights, Dark Dark Dark, Cashier No 9, The Wave Pictures, Islet, Rocketnumbernine, Alt-J, Teeth of the Sea, The Perch Creek Family Jug Band, Richard Warren, Goodnight Lenin, Sweet Baboo, and Alaska.
Two more headliners and over 100 other acts are yet to be announced for the festival which takes place annually at Glanusk Park, Usk Valley, Powys, Wales. The dates for The Green Man Festival 2012 are confirmed as from Friday 17th to Sunday 19th August 2012.
The Green Man Festival is a four day event with three days of music and more than 100 acts playing indie, psychedelia, Americana, and folk across 5 stages, while DJs playing everything from psychedlia, dub-reggae, modern electro and stoner rock right through the night.
Literature, film, theatre, ceilidhs, all-night bonfires, comedy and secret gigs are part of the festival's identity. The festival has carved a niche as a non-corporate and ethically-minded festival.
Ticket are priced at £145 for adults, £125 for students, £75 for teenagers, and £5 for children aged 5 and under. A live-in vehicle ticket will be priced at £60, and holiday tickets (bought in addition to a weekend ticket, allowing camping at Glanusk Park from Monday 13th August for 3 days before the festival opens) will be priced at £40. A resident day ticket will be priced at £50.
