Roots Manuva, and We Are Scientists lead the first acts announced for Tramlines festival happening from Friday 20th until Sunday 22nd July 2012 at various venues throughout Sheffield.

Confirmed for the Main Stage on Devonshire Green at the FREE event are headliners Roots Manuva and We Are Scientists, they will be joined by Ms Dynamite, Chew Lips, Charli XCX, Clock Opera, Frankie And The Heartstrings, and Beth Jeans Houghton & The Hooves Of Destiny.

The first acts confirmed for the Alternative Stage are Future Of The Left, Esben and the Witch, Mazes, Frankie Rose, 65daysofstatic, and Rolo Tomassi.

The Dance world line-up includes The Toddla T Sound which sees Steel City DJ and producer curating on Saturday night, Benga and Youngman, and Jackmaster.

Headlining the World Stage will be Cornell Campbell & Top Cat with Soothsayers, and Rafiki Jazz.

The Folk forest at Endcliffe Park will host acts including James Yorkston.

This year's free, ticketless, music festival will have over 70 venues taking part and thousands of music lovers expected in the city. Last year saw over 150,000 music fans in Sheffield across three days. also appeaing in those venues will be Mr Scruff, Spector, Alt-J, Hookworms, Toy, Wild Palms, xxxy, Midland, Kill It Kid, Peace, The Neat, Lulu James, Troumaca, Cymbals, Logan Sama, Champion, Swindle, Elijah and Skilliam, and The Heartbreaks.

Sarah Nulty, Assistant Festival Director said, "We are really proud of this year’s line up. Tramlines really is a festival like no other. We give music fans a chance to see their favourite artists absolutely free, and this year we are giving people even more for their nothing.

More regular line-up announcements will be made over the coming weeks. With fairgrounds, a kids area, markets and an eclectic mix of music Tramlines offers something for all ages across one great weekend.
