Latitude adds Rufus Wainwright

Latitude has revealed that Rufus Wainwright will be taking to the stage at the seventh edition ofthe festival which will take place over the weekend of Thursday 12th to Sunday 15th July 2012 at Henham Park Estate, Suffolk.

Rufus will be taking the coveted Sunday lunchtime slot on the Obelisk Arena, which in the past has hosted acts including Tom Jones, Joanna Newsom and Thom Yorke amongst others.

Known as a multi-talented artist, he has a huge number of musical achievements under his belt. Born to celebrated folk singers Kate McGarrigle and Loudon Wainwright III Rufus has made varied creative contributions across the entertainment spectrum over the years. Rufus is as comfortable creating an album of pop classics as he is playing alongside a 60 piece full orchestra and has worked on an array of projects over the past few years, including a Grammy-nominated recreation of Judy Garland's Carnegie Hall concert.

His seventh studio album will be released May 1st and is produced by mega-star Mark Ronson. The American-Canadian singer/songwriter will be performing tracks from his new album, 'Out Of The Game' alongside his back catalogue at the slightly later time of 1.00pm.

This change will allow festival-goers to enjoy both Rufus and also concert pianist Lang Lang, without competition from any of the other stages. Lang Lang will perform on the floating Waterfront Stage at noon. Following on from Lang Lang, will be Rufus' set.

Friday is headlined by Bon Iver, Saturday's line-up is topped by Elbow, The Sunday is Paul Weller. They lead a host of acts and entertainment announced for the multi-arts event including Lang Lang, Wild Beasts, The Horrors, White Lies, Bat For Lashes, Buena Vista Social Club, Daryl Hall, Janelle Monae, Laura Marling, Metronomy, Alabama Shakes, Amadou & Mariam, Dexys, Django Django, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, SBTRKT, Antlers, Lana Del Rey, St Vincent, The Field, M83, and many more.

Also recently added to the line-up are dEUS, Low, Breton, Glen Hansard known best as lead singer-songwriter in The Frames, and Punch Brothers.

An adult weekend ticket is priced at £175 with a Family Camping option also available, with a weekend ticket for all children aged 5 -12 years priced at £5. A Friday, Saturday, or Sunday day ticket is priced at £75, with a child day ticket (for 5-12 years) priced at £5. Campervans tickets are priced at £30.
