Jack White to headline Denmark's Roskilde

Jack White joins the previously announced headliners, Bruce Springsteen, Björk, The Cure, Mew, Bon Iver, and The Root, at this summer's Roskilde Festival in Denmark.

Also added to the line-up are Alison Krauss, Machine Head, Janelle Monae, The Cult, Santigold, Amadou & Mariam, The Shins, Django Django, Cold Specks, and Clock Opera.

Also confirmed today are A$AP Rocky, Addison Groove, Alabama Shakes, Amadou & Mariam, Amsterdance feat. Jesse Voorn, Dennis Christopher, and Sam ONeall, Analogik, Apparatjik, Ars Nova, Baloji, Baroness, Behemoth, Bellowhead, Bernhoft, Big K.R.I.T., Blitz The Ambassador, Blondes, Bomba Estereo, Bowerbirds, Celso Pina, Commix, Conjunto Angola 70, Copenhagen Collaboration, Criolo, Dalglish, and Danyel Waro.

Also bound for Denmark are Daughter, Miles Cleret, Static, Dominique Young Unique, Dry The River, Elektro Guzzi, Evidence, First Aid Kit, Grieves & Budo, Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu, H2O, Hospitality, Jakob Bro, Janelle Monae, Jorgen Teller & The Empty Stairs ft. Lazara, Julia Holter, Jupiter Okwess International, Kellermensch, Kimmo Pohjonen, Korallreven.

Other new additions include Kriget, Lars Winnerback, les Freres Smith, Liturgy, M83, Mac Miller, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Magtens Korridorer, Maia Vidal, Majovci Group, Malk de Koijn, Mikal Cronin, Mohammad Reza Mortazavi, Nils Frahm, Oneohtrix Point Never, and Orquesta Tipica Imperial.

Music director Rikke Øxner said, "It's a difficult art presenting an artist at the perfect time in their career, but I think we've succeeded in doing so with a large part of our bookings. Needless to say, we also need to present timeless artists such as The Cult, Alison Krauss and Machine Head, as well as the brand new artists, whose great career still lies ahead of them."

Furthermore, Roskilde Festival has announced a new stage for electronic music, Apollo, which will host acts such as Modeselektor, and Pretty Lights.

With the addition of this stage, the total number of bands on Roskilde Festival comes close to 200, including Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Bjork, Bon Iver, Friendly Fires, tUnE-yArDs, The Roots, Jonathan Johansson, Wiz Khalifa, Devildriver, Nasum, AraabMuzik, Yelawolf, Causa Sui, Cold Specks, Royce Da 5'9", El Paraiso Ensemble, I Got You On Tape, Larsen & Furious Jane, and Papir, who are already announced for next year's four day music festival takes place from Thursday 5th until Sunday 8th July 2012 at Roskilde, in Denmark.

Tickets sold out last year. Tickets are priced at 1810 DKK (approx £210) for a weekend ticket, or 920 DKK (approx £105) or a day ticket.
