first acts announced for Underage Festival

Maverick Sabre, Rustie, Pulled Apart By Horses, BIGKids, and Dry The River are amongst the first acts announced for the fifth Underage Festival the Shoreditch Park, Hackney, London event for 13 to 17 year olds only, held this year on Friday 31st August 2012.

The first names to be announced are (in alphabetical order) BIGKids, Dry The River, Fixers, Iceage, Maverick Sabre, Outfit, Pulled Apart By Horses, Rustie, Spector, Summer Camp, and Theme Park.

Tom Baker of Eat Your Own Ears says, "It's incredible how quickly five years has gone. The first Underage Festival was an amazing event; the atmosphere and energy of the audience, everyone was buzzing from the bands and singing along to all the lyrics. The line up this year is really shaping up and I think will be more focused than ever as there are less stages, but no less thrilling than in previous years. It's also exciting to be on a new site in Shoreditch Park."

The festival offers teenagers a day where they can get away from their parents and have fun and listen to music across multiple stages.

Underage Festival is an event for 13 to 17 year olds (strictly no over-17s; 18-year olds are welcome) and is run by London's Underage club.

Musical savvy youngsters are able to attend this festival on their own. The bars will be soft drinks only and there will be food available.

There are no other acts confirmed yet for the event which is expected to run from noon until 8pm with doors opening at 11.30am.
