More acts and entertainment has been announced for this summer's 'On Safari' themed Summer Sundae Weekender.

The Laughing Hyena Late Night Comedy & Cabaret Show will take place on Friday 17th & Saturday 18th August at the Into The Wild Stage and will play host to Rich Fulcher, Toby, and Carly Smallman on Friday, and David Morgan, Joey Page, and Joe Bor on Saturday, as well as cabaret from Richard Garaghty, Goronwy Thom, and Jon Hicks.

The local magazine From Dusk 2 Dawn will be leading an interactive Secret Safari trail across the festival site this year. Expect music, dance, animal magic, fancy dress, and most of all expect the unexpected.

Hosted by Leicester based poet Mr Timothy Grayson, the Poetry Brothel will be bringing a carnival of artisans and offering 'poetry whores' who will provide one-on-one readings in their den of literary iniquity.

Plus in Curiosity Corner and The Garden there will be interactive treats including wacky races, fancy dress in the Live Safari Photo Shoot, a Jungle Fever Tent,and animal artefacts at Twycross Zoo's Conservation Station. Plus art and installations from Interact Gallery, Pedestrian Gallery and many more local and national artists and institutions, and a wealth of workshops including 'Gorilla Knitting'.

The Bandstand this year be moving to The Garden where it will host storytelling from Rachel Rose Reid, poetry from Talia Randall, theatre from local Social Enterprise Galli Galli, BBC Radio Leicester live broadcasts, and special musical performances.

The Kidzone will have plenty to entertain the festival's cheeky monkeys and their families. Including sand sculpture workshops from CCBC's 'Deadly Art' presenter Nicola Wood, face painting, circus skills, jungle artwork, theatre and craft workshops and a whole lot more.

Following the success of last year's choral event, which saw amateur singers who had never met before give a near professional performance to a packed out audience, the Summer Sundae Festival Choir is back! Those attending the festival who would like to join in are asked to email summersundaechoir@gmail.com listing their name, contact and experience before 1st August 2012 to take part!

The line-up for the weekend of Friday 17th until Sunday 19th August 2012 includes Adam Ant & The Good The Bad & The Lovely Posse, Asian Dub Foundation, Billy Bragg Celebrates Woody Guthrie's 100th Birthday, Agnes Obel, Akala, The Black Seeds, Cashier No 9, Clock Opera, Dan Mangan, Datarock, Death In Vegas, Deer Tick, Django Django, Dog Is Dead, Francois And The Atlas Mountains, Friends, Ghostpoet, Gold Panda, Goodnight Lenin, Grace Petrie, Hey Sholay, Hip Hop Shakespeare, Jack Beats, Jonathan Richman, Juan Zelada, Katy B, Lazy Lester And Friends, Lewis Floyd Henry, Lianne La Havas, Lucy Rose, The Magic Tombolinos, Maybeshewill, Ocean Colour Scene, Olugbenga (Metronomy Dj), Patrick Wolf, Public Image Limited, Rachel Sermanni, Reverend And The Makers, Speech Debelle, Stay+, Sway, Team Me, Tim Edey And Brendan Power, Tune-Yards, The Twilight Sad, Uncle Frank, Willy Mason, and more. The event at De Montfort Hall, Leicester offers a civilised and relaxed atmosphere, an unwavering ethical standpoint, high production values, a quality range of foods from around the world, 20 cask ales and a mean line in cocktails (all reasonably priced) at four bars throughout the site, not to mention stalls, and high calibre comedy.

An adult weekend ticket is priced at £105. A young person (14-17 years) ticket is priced at £70 for the weekend. A child (aged 5-13 years) ticket is priced at £35, and under 5s go for free.

There's an additional cost for camping tickets which are per person, not per tent. An adult camping ticket is priced at £10, a young person's camping ticket is priced at £7, a child camping ticket is free, and camper vans and caravans tickets are priced at £40 (maximum 5 people).

Summer Sundae Day tickets are on sale at 2010 prices, which means an Adult Friday ticket is priced at £35, and Adult tickets for Saturday and Sunday are priced at £45 each. Plus this year there are discounts for Young Persons (aged 14-17 years) with Friday priced at £25, and Saturday and Sunday priced at £30 each. Child Tickets (aged 5-13 years) are priced at at £12 for the Friday and £15 for the Saturday or Sunday.
