The 2012 event brought the best in new music to the Seaside City's venues for three days and nights and saw 13,000 music fans and 3,000 industry delegates gather for the festival.

Next year will see more than 300 bands in total, performing in more than 30 venues spread across Brighton over the course of three days. There are no acts confirmed yet for 2013.

The convention saw The Great Escape in conversation with Michael Eavis, Brian Molko and Xfm's John Kennedy, and debates on the impact of sync and the art of music supervision, the pros and cons of local music scenes, and live opportunities for new bands across Europe. An expanded networking programme gave delegates direct access to key distributors, agents, bookers and digital innovators, and also included the first ever Digital Pitch Party. There were focused strands on what it means to DIY, and on the state of the music media, plus the return of John Robb's Pop Question Time, the popular Heroes & Villains session, and more.

It's also possible to book accommodation early at The Great Escape's official hostel partner Journeys, for £30 a bed a night. There are also rooms at the exclusive delegate hotel, The Queens, on sale from £420 for three nights.

A three day super early bird delegate pass is priced at £80. To buy tickets, click here.

The venues are all a close walk from each other with each venue equipped to an international showcase standard. This year's partner country has not yet been confirmed.

As well as the live music, there's also a number of "Parkinson" style interviews with luminaries from the world of Music and Media, to show the way in which success is achieved, as well as educational panels, workshops and networking sessions.

The Alternative Escape will be returning to TGE once again now larger than ever before, taking in over 20 additional venues to the core TGE programme. The Alternative Escape allows promoters, media partners, record labels and anyone else interested in promoting live music to host their own creative showcases as part of the wider Great Escape Festival.
