As part of the Guild celebrations this week, it has been decided to make G-Fest open to all. Also, anyone who has bought a ticket already will be fully refunded.

Taking place on Saturday 8th September, 2012 with gates opening at 12.30pm the line-up of Maverick Sabre, Labrinth, Stooshe, Clement Marfo & The Frontline, The Milk, and Abandoman starts at 2pm with Angel replacing Dappy who has unfortunately had to withdraw from G-Fest.

Councillor Peter Rankin, leader Preston City Council said, "The Guild has been phenomenal so far and we are truly overwhelmed by the response. Many events have sold out and we are expecting a fantastic final weekend. This weekend is about celebrating our City's future and handing over the baton to young people to continue this amazing Guild tradition. We have been listening to the feedback about how important it is to engage the next generation and we have taken the decision that G-Fest should be a truly people's festival and be totally free of charge.

"Wristbands will be available between 10am and 1pm on Avenham Park and 5pm – 8pm from today on Preston Flag market on a strictly first come first served basis. Current ticket holders will be given full priority at the festival. Starting Monday 10th September full refunds will be given to everyone who purchased tickets. Let everyone enjoy the event and let's all -celebrate together, after all its only once in 20 years and this is our gift to the City."

Preston Guild takes place once every 20 years. It is the world's only year-long festival with a history dating back more than 800 years, and is the only Guild still celebrated in the UK. G-Fest will take place during ten days of cultural, sporting and civic events from 31st August to the 9th September which will form the culmination of the Guild year.

Current G-Fest ticket holders will be given priority entrance to the festival on production of their original ticket, a refund will be available from Monday 10th September through the Guild Hall box office for cash purchases. For all other tickets (paid for by credit and debit cards) ticket holders will be contacted directly.
