The first acts confirmed are the headliners Slipknot on Friday, Iron Maiden doing their 'Maiden England' set on Saturday, and German industrialists Rammstein on Sunday. There are no other acts confirmed yet for 2013.

Download will offer three days of heavy rock music with more than 100 acts over multiple stages at Donington Park, the spiritual home of rock! After last year's bad weather the site is due to be further improved and John Probyn, Download Festival Director said, "We are aware of some of the specific issues some customers faced as a result of the bad weather and the effect this has on the festival site and we can assure customers that every effort was made to prepare the ground prior to the event. All options were considered to manage this situation, but unfortunately there was nothing that could be done to prevent the resulting ground conditions. We will use the events of 2012 to once again improve the site for years to come."

Tickets are priced at £165 for a weekend arena ticket, £190 for 3 nights with camping, and £195 for 5 nights with camping. Family camping is also available, and advance parking is priced at £20.
