Paul Weller announces forest tour shows

The first announcement for the forestry commission's Forest Tour, has been revealed as Paul Weller who will play a brace of shows next summer as part of Forestry Commission Live Music where acts perform in spectacular woodland locations around the country.

The singer songwriter has recorded six era-defining albums with The Jam; plus five with The Style Council and eleven as a solo artist. The ever-changing mod-father continues to be one of the guiding lights of British popular music, and has performed previously for the forestry commission in 2004 and 2009.

Commenting on the shows, Paul Weller said, "It will be good for me to be back in the woods. I really enjoy the unique atmosphere of these gigs as do the fans."

Paul Weller will be performing on Friday 12th July at Thetford Forest, near Brandon, in Suffolk, and on Saturday 20th July at Westonbirt Arboretum, near Tetbury, in Gloucestershire.

Tickets are priced at £39, and go on sale at 9am this Friday, 23rd November, and eFestivals will have links for you to buy them then.

Forest Live is an independent programme organised by the Forestry Commission bringing music to audiences without commercial branding or sponsorship. Income from the concerts is spent on improving the woodland for both people and wildlife.

Paul Weller has also announced he will launch the Alive at Delapre Park events in the historic parkland setting of Delapre, in Northampton on Friday 19th July 2013. Tickets are priced as those above and also go on sale at the same time.
