Eden Sessions add a touch of Sigur Ros

Icelandic post-rockers Sigur Ros will play Cornwall's Eden Sessions as headliners on Sunday 30th June, one of just a few shows they will play in the UK this summer.

This summer's Eden Sessions will their twelfth edition. The Sessions are famed not only for bringing top acts to Cornwall but also for their festival feel, with extra bands and entertainers playing around the site in the run-up to the main event.

Martin Williams, Eden Project Marketing Director, said, "Sigur Rós are one of the best ambient post-rock bands in the world and it will be a privilege to see them play in the spectacular, ethereal surroundings of Eden.

"They are known for playing iconic venues so I'm sure they will relish playing here. They also bring with them a spectacular lightshow which will look incredible against the backdrop of the Biomes.

"It will be great to see them as they showcase their new musical direction and material from their acclaimed new album."

Tickets to the Sigur Rós Eden Session will be priced at £35 and go on general sale at 5pm on Wednesday 23rd January, and eFestivals will have links to buy them then.

Sigur Rós are the fourth headliner to be announced for the 2013 Eden Sessions, joining comic Eddie Izzard (Monday 3rd June), Kaiser Chiefs (29 June) and The xx (Tuesday 2nd July) are the only other acts confirmed to headline Sessions next year. Eden Sessions have become more like a one-day festival, with three stages and acts playing from early afternoon on each day.

Tickets for either Kaiser Chiefs or The xx sessions are priced at £35. Every Sessions ticket includes entry to Eden on the day of the show or the day after.
