Eminem to headline Glasgow Summer Sessions

Hip-hop hero Eminem has been announced as the first headliner for DF Concerts & Events new series of concerts, Glasgow Summer Sessions, in the city's Bellahouston Park in August.

American rapper, record producer, Marshall Bruce Mathers III, aka alter ego Slim Shady, plus special guests will perform at Bellahouston Park on Tuesday 20th August.

Since exploding onto the scene in 1999, Eminem has dominated the music charts. He has racked up an incredible five No.1 albums and seven chart topping singles in the UK alone. His most recent album 'Recovery' was the best-selling album worldwide in 2010 and spawned the massive singles 'Love The Way You Lie' and 'Not Afraid', and his next studio album is set to be released later this year.

The rapper last performed in front of Scottish audiences in 2010 as a headliner at T in the Park.

DF Concerts boss Geoff Ellis said, "We're delighted to announce Eminem as the first major act for Glasgow Summer Sessions. His performance at T in the Park and his previous stadium show at Hampden were spectacular, so this gig will be one of the events of the year. As it's one of the most important music destinations in the world, we're also excited about what else we have to announce for Summer Sessions - more news soon!"

Bus packages will be available in conjunction with Citylink from all major cities in Scotland and the North of England direct to Bellahouston Park. Tickets will be available to purchase along with event briefs from 0844 847 1581.

Additionally, a shuttle bus service will be available on the day of the event making return journeys from Buchanan Street Bus Station to Bellahouston Park. The fare will be payable upon boarding.

Support on the day has not yet been announced. Other headlining acts for other days have not yet been announced.

Ticket prices have not been announced and go on general sale at 9am on Wednesday 30th January, and eFestivals will have links to buy them then.
