This year's Eden Festival which happens from Friday 7th until Sunday 9th June 2013 at Raehills Meadows, Moffat, Dumfries and Galloway, in Scotland has announced that one of the many activities on offer during the three day event will be a mass paint fight.

Raehills meadow near Moffat was a riot of colour recently as staff and volunteers from Eden festival took part in a powder paint fight which was so much fun organisers have announced festivalgoers will be able to join in with a mass paint fight at 3.30pm on Saturday the 8th June, revellers will be encouraged to turn the air blue, green, red and orange by indulging in a multi-coloured melee using powder paints supplied by the festival.

Nina Sanders who heads up the events waste management team said, "We had tremendous fun skirmishing and ambushing each other with our paint bombs, we hope that attendees of this year's festival will also get into the spirit of things and take part in some shenanigans over the weekend."

Festival director Finley Becks-Phelps explained the origins of the paint fight, which The Secret Garden Festival also annually hosts, "The idea of a paint fight really comes from the Indian Holi ceremony which is a celebration of spring and the coming harvest. It is also an excuse for people to get together and simply have a bit of fun."

Other light hearted entertainment programmed for the fifth Eden festival includes a children's procession, field sports such as egg and spoon race and tug of war, 80's workout courtesy of Mr Motivator, comedy tents and circus workshops.

Eden offers ten stages of entertainment, some of the more intriguing include a cycle powered Reggae stage, a tropical jungle themed dance tent and Rabbies tavern which is described as a 'auld Scottish ale house'.

The line-up of over 250 acts covering everything from reggae, dance, swing, ska and electro include Caravan Palace (DJ Set), Sam and the Womp, Craig Charles, Shy FX & Stamina, The Carny Villains, The Correspondents, Electric Swing Circus, Slamboree, Ed Solo & Deekline, The Asbo Disco, Beans On Toast, Dub Mafia, Smoove & Turrell, Mr B The Gentleman Rhymer, Electric Swing Circus, Mungo's Hi Fi ft Charlie P, Resonators, The Drop, Woodenbox, King Lagoons Flying Swordfish Dance Band, and Anderson McGinty Webster Ward and Fisher, and Mr. Motivator. Eden is characterised by a laid back atmosphere and a huge range of performance acts from Burlesque through to Balkan Gypsy and Electronica.

The aim behind the festival is to provide a 3 day celebration of music, dance, culture and community built on an ecologically sound and carbon friendly set of principles, exhibiting live music alongside decorations and surroundings. Eden is characterised by a laid back atmosphere and a huge range of performance acts from Burlesque through to Balkan Gypsy and Electronica.

The fifth Eden Festival takes place just off the M74 and is situated on Victorian style parkland at Raehills Meadow between the towns of Dumfries and Moffat.
