£202.50 for the weekend
Reading and Leeds Festival 2013 are to host a 'Silent Band' event where where festival goers will be able to listen to live music from bands through headphones until the early hours.
Festival boss Melvin Benn told Music Week, (here), "For a long time we’ve had the silent arena or the silent disco type activity and this year we're launching for the first time silent band.
“It will happen through the night where bands will play and people will sing along to them and have a great time wearing headphones. It’s live but it’s late at night when I’m not allowed to make a lot of loud noise, it’s a bit of fun.”
Around 300 artists will perform over the weekend from DJs to MCs, bands to comics and more. Leeds and Reading are now the only festival to watch UK festival exclusive performances from Biffy Clyro, City and Colour, Deftones, Eminem, Fall Out Boy, Green Day, Nine Inch Nails, System Of A Down and White Lies. Many bands and artists will be making their Leeds Festival debuts this year including Swim Deep, Peace, A$AP Rocky, Baauer, Childhood, City & Colour, Disclosure, Judah Friedlander, Rob Delaney, Wretch 32 and Tame Impala.
There will be new stages and areas at Leeds this year including the BBC Radio 1 Dance Stage, the BBC Radio 1Xtra Stage and the Relentless Stage is relocating into the woods.
