There's a change of headliner at Ja Ja Ja Festival, a showcase for the best of Nordic music, food and film, happening this weekend on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th November 2013 at London's Southbank Centre.
Due to complications from lead singer Sune Rose Wagner’s recent appendix surgery The Raveonettes have had to cancel their Saturday night headline slot following last minute medical advice.
Explaining the situation to fans, Sune’s bandmate Sharin Foo said, “As some of you may be aware Sune recently underwent emergency appendix surgery from which he should have recovered well enough to perform. Unfortunately, Sune has been admitted to the hospital again last night with complications and might have to go through additional surgery. We wish to apologise to all of our fans for any inconvenience this has caused, but we very much hope you enjoy the festival. We are are very sad to be missing it. Sharin ”
The band’s Saturday slot will be taken instead by Swedish five-piece , Shout Out Louds, who are added to the bill fresh from a European and US tour in support of their Optica album.
On their late addition to the bill, Shout Out Loud’s lead singer Adam Olenius commented, “Dear London. We're honored and excited to be able to play the Ja Ja Ja Festival and to play the Roundhouse for the first time. People say it's the s**t. We have big shoes to fill and wish Sune of The Raveonettes to get well soon. See you Saturday night.”
