Arcade Fire have been confirmed as the first act announced to play next year's Glastonbury Festival and will headline the Pyramid Stage on Friday, 27th June.

Arcade Fire last appeared at Glastonbury Festival in 2007 playing the sunset slot on the Friday on the Other Stage of a very wet year.

Next year's sold out event will run for five full days from  Wednesday 25th until Sunday 29th June 2014 across over a 1,000 acres of countryside at Worthy Farm, Somerset. As ever, entry includes a free programme. Once again, the Festival will be raising more than £2 million in funds for Oxfam, Wateraid, Greenpeace and a host of local charities and causes.

No other acts are confirmed as yet.
