Festival organiser Michael Eavis has confirmed in an interview with The Guardian, (here), that the once heavily rumoured Fleetwood Mac will not be appearing at next year's event, but he hopes that they will appear at the Festival in the future.

It was looking likely that Fleetwood Mac, would be appearing on main Pyramid stage next summer until the announcement of the cancellation of their upcoming 14 date tour of Australia and New Zealand due to bass player John McVie being diagnosed with cancer.

The co-founding member of Fleetwood Mac has been having treatment for the cancer, and Eavis made clear that the '60s British-American rock act were not booked for 2014, saying, "We're hoping to get them for 2015, but not next year".

Arcade Fire are the only act confirmed to play next year's Glastonbury Festival and will headline the Pyramid Stage on Friday, 27th June.

It's possible that they are a replacement for Fleetwood Mac if it was originally part of the organisers' plans that 'The Chain' hitmakers would be one of next year's headliners. That would make sense, as earlier in the year Eavis predicted all the headliners were acts who had not played Glastonbury Festival before.

Therefore the other two acts topping the bill could still be new to the Festival, we will have to wait until later in the new year to find out.

Next year's sold out event will run for five full days from  Wednesday 25th until Sunday 29th June 2014 across over a 1,000 acres of countryside at Worthy Farm, Somerset. As ever, entry includes a free programme. Once again, the Festival will be raising more than £2 million in funds for Oxfam, Wateraid, Greenpeace and a host of local charities and causes.

No other acts are confirmed as yet. As usual eFestivals will bring you the very best-sourced rumours, allowing festival-goers to see who is playing long before the bands are formally announced - keep your eyes on the Glastonbury 2014 rumours, updated as we receive information.
