Katherine Jenkins is the latest act to announce her participation in this year's The Forestry Commission's 2014 Forest Tours where bands perform each summer in spectacular woodland locations around the country.

Katherine Jenkins, and National Symphony Orchestra, and Conductor Anthony Inglis, will be appearing at Westonbirt Arboretum, Nr Tetbury, Gloucestershire on Sunday 20th July.

The mezzo-soprano has released nine studio albums, all of which have sold in excess of seven million copies and gone platinum around the world.  Due to international demand, Katherine spends much of her time touring the world. In 2013 she toured South Africa, the US, China, Japan, Abu Dhabi, and also continental Europe. Her most recent accolade is receiving an OBE in the 2014 New Year Honours List for services to music and charity, in particular, her work with the armed forces.

Forest Live is an independent programme organised by the Forestry Commission, bringing music to new audiences without commercial branding or sponsorship. Income generated from ticket sales is spent on caring for this internationally important tree collection and improving the arboretum for both people and wildlife.

Katherine Jenkins last played the venue to a capacity crowd in 2008, and commenting on her forthcoming concert she said, “I am really looking forward to returning to Westonbirt Arboretum this summer to perform again in such a beautiful location.”

The concert will include a selection of Katherine’s favourite works as well as classic proms repertoire.

Tickets are priced at £39.60 (including booking fee) go on sale at 9am on Friday, 17th January, and eFestivals will have links to buy them then.
