The first acts have been announced for The Great Escape and include Kelis appearing at the Brighton Dome on Saturday 10th May.

Kelis commented, "I'm looking forward to playing The Great Escape, its a great line up and it will be fun to play out my new album come May." Providing support for Kelis on the day will be Ella Eyre. This show is separately ticketed at £15.

In total 400+ bands will be announced, performing in more than 35 venues spread across Brighton over the course of three days. 

Festival Director, Kat Morris said: "This will be our 9th festival, and it really feels like the event has become stronger year on year. The Great Escape prides itself on showcasing the very best upcoming talent and we aim to produce a line-up which shows a true cross section of emerging artists, locally and internationally, and offer hundreds of incredible gigs, accessible to festival-goers with just one wristband. We're really excited by how this years' line-up is shaping up."

The Great Escape features international and UK pop, cutting edge, hip hop, electronic, and rock acts showcased at venues all over Brighton. The dates are confirmed as Thursday 8th until Saturday 10th May 2014.

In its nine year history, The Great Escape has quickly established itself as an international platform for new talent, with over 30 countries represented throughout the three-day programme.

Early bird tickets are priced at £45 plus booking fee.

As well as the live music, there's also a number of "Parkinson" style interviews with luminaries from the world of Music and Media, to show the way in which success is achieved, as well as educational panels, workshops and networking sessions. The UK's premiere music business convention, is a place for music industry professionals from across the world to exchange knowledge, ideas, contacts and business.
