The line-ups for the the triple Rewind Festivals celebrating the 1980's decade have been announced.
For this the first year of Rewind North held at Capesthorne Hall in Cheshire over the weekend of Friday 29th until Sunday 31st August 2014, the line-up will include Mike & The Mechanics, Billy Ocean, Rick Astley, Jimmy Somerville, Marc Almond, Go West, Nik Kershaw, Bjorn Again, Nick Heyward, The Real Thing, Cutting Crew, and Doctor and the Medics, on Saturday. Sunday's acts will be Level 42, Holly Johnson, Tony Hadley, Midge Ure, Heaven 17, Roland Gift, The Beat, The Straits, T'Pau, China Crisis, Toyah, and Sonia.
Billed as a celebration of 80's music and artists the triple event also returns to Scotland for the fourth time held at Scone Palace, in Perth, Scotland over the weekend of Friday 18th until Sunday 20th July 2014 and will host on Saturday Billy Ocean, 10cc, Heaven 17, The Sugarhill Gang, Midge Ure, Go West, Nick Heyward, Bjorn Again, Cheryl, Mike, & Jay (from Bucks Fizz), Doctor and the Medics, and Steve Augeri. On Sunday the bill includes Boomtown Rats, Daryl Hall and John Oates (their only Scottish festival appearance), Marc Almond, ABC, Roland Gift, The Selecter, Blancmange, T'Pau, Johnny Hates Jazz, The Christians, Matt Bianco, and The South.
Now in it's sixth year Rewind South returns to Temple Island Meadows, near Henley On Thames over the weekend of Friday 15th until Sunday 17th August 2014. Here the line-up on Saturday is Mike & The Mechanics, Holly Johnson, Level 42, Sister Sledge, Rick Astley, Marc Almond, Jason Donovan, Wang Chung, Nick Heyward, From The Jam, Martha Wash (the original Weather Girl), and Johnny Hates Jazz. Sunday's acts feature Boomtown Rats, Thompson Twins’ Tom Bailey, UB40, Jimmy Somerville, Tony Hadley, Bonnie Tyler, Roland Gift, Howard Jones, Hugh Cornwell, The South, A Flock Of Seagulls, and Hazel O'Connor.
Tickets for all three events will go on sale on Friday 31st January and eFestivals will have links to buy them then.
Festival goers can also expect posh nosh, theme bars, and the usual 80s Rewind range of camping options including tents already erected for arrival, tipi villages, and more. In addition to the Main Stage, both festivals will have a host of other entertainment; Funfairs and Fireworks, Street Entertainers and Kidzone, Theme Bars, Food Courts, Traders, SilentArena, and Karaoke.
