Arctic Monkeys will headline Reading and Leeds Festivals over the August Bank Holiday weekend, as an exclusive festival headline appearance in England and Wales.

The band packed the Carling Tent and surrounding field in 2005 (probably the largest crowd ever gathered there) with their debut performance, and highlighted how much impact they were set to make ahead of the release of their debut album. They returned the following year this time on the Main Stage, and then in 2009 headlined the twin festivals.

They lead the other new additions which include Courteeners, and You Me At Six who will also be making an exclusive festival performance in England and Wales, plus The 1975, SBTRKT, and Warpaint.

Netsky will headline the Dance Stage which also hosts Annie Mac, with Royal Blood, HozierIssues, Pusha T, Krept & Konan also confirmed across the line-up.

Fans were given the chance to suggest a new name for the Rock stage. The winning name chosen is The Pit and it will host the final name announced, Architects.

The first headliner has been announced, as Blink 182 with their only UK show. Also in the first announcement were Jake Bugg, Disclosure, Metronomy, Of Mice & Men, Wilkinson and I Am Legion. Many more acts will be announced over the coming weeks and months.

For the full details please see the Reading Festival line-ups page.
