Irish folk singer Cara Dillon leads the latest names for Hebridean Celtic Festival.

The festival has also announced today that the line-up will include The Magnolia Sisters, The Wynntown Marshals, Dante, Michael Cassidy, Scott Wood Band, Ceol Na Cloinne, Adam Holmes, Miss Irenie Rose, Sienna, and Sean Taylor & Danny Thompson, which sees one of the hottest new names in the UK blues/acoustic scene team up with veteran bassist Danny Thompson, a founder member of folk rock band Pentangle.

In another development for the award-winning event, a new acoustic stage is being added for the first time with four intimate slots for artists on both the Friday and Saturday of HebCelt. 

Festival director Caroline Maclennan said, “We are delighted Cara will be part of this year’s festival. She is an outstanding singer who adds yet more quality to an already outstanding line-up

The acoustic stage is something new and different for us and is driven by our desire to offer as wide and diverse a programme as possible for our audience. I am sure people will find it an interesting addition.”

The 19th HebCelt, based in Stornoway in the island of Lewis, Stornoway in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland from Wednesday 16th to Saturday 19th of July 2014

The first acts confirmed are Levellers, Big Country, Donnie Munro, plus Duncan Chisholm, Rachel Sermanni, We Banjo 3, Norrie MacIver, Rura, Blue Rose Code, Hunter and The Bear, Damian Helliwell's Metta, This Silent Forest, Eleanor Nicolson, Gordie MacKeeman & His Rhythm Boys, and Willie Campbell and the Open Day Rotation.

As well as the music there's also a full programme of family entertainment, as well as a street arts programme with walkabout, workshops and fire shows.
