Plastic rubbish  is a big problem at any festival, and this year Glastonbury Festival hopes to greatly reduce the amount of plastic bottles thrown away on site by asking attendees to refill water bottles at any of our 400 drinking water taps and either bring their own reusable, PBA-free water battle or buy a special Glastonbury Festival stainless steel bottle when they pay the balance on tickets.

Organisers expalin, "We are always trying to find new ways to minimise the impact of the Festival on our environment and, this year, we're aiming to cut down considerably on the use of plastic bottles. They cause an enormous amount of needless waste, as we provide free tap water from hundreds of taps across the site.

"So, we're stepping up our campaign to encourage Festival goers to bring their own reusable, PBA-free water battles. Then, instead of buying bottled water, you can fill your bottle for free at any of our 400 drinking water taps.

For those of you who don't yet have a reusable water bottle, we've teamed up with WaterAid and Raw Foundation to produce a reusable 100% stainless steel 750 ml water bottle."

The steel bottles are priced at £10 and are a not-for-profit initiative. When deposit ticket holders pay their ticket balance (from Tuesday 1st to Monday 7th April) they will have the option to order one of the stainless steel bottles which they will be able to collect at the Festival.

Organisers add, "As well as filling your water bottle from any of our drinking water taps, you will be able to refill it for free at WaterAid's five kiosks across the site (similar to the below kiosk, which WaterAid use around the world). At the kiosks, you can also learn more about the charity's incredible work to give everyone, everywhere access to safe water and sanitation."

Remember to love the farm and leave no trace, and help to make Glastonbury Festival 2014 as plastic-free as possible. Recycle, use the bins, and take what you camp with, home with you.

This year's Friday headliners are Arcade Fire, plus Dolly Parton, Disclosure, Blondie, and Lily Allen are the first officially announced acts for this year's Festival run smoothly over five full days from  Wednesday 25th until Sunday 29th June 2014 across over a 1,000 acres of beautiful countryside at Worthy Farm, Somerset.

Registration is temporarily closed, and will re-open on 27th March 2014. There is likely to be a resale of returned tickets sometime after registration closes again on 21st April.

As usual eFestivals will bring you the very best-sourced rumours, allowing festival-goers to see who is playing long before the bands are formally announced - keep your eyes on the Glastonbury 2014 rumours, updated as we receive information.
