The Rolling Stones have been revealed as headliners at this summer's Roskilde Festival in Denmark.
The band will headline the Orange Stage on the opening night, with a set of hits including 'Gimme Shelter', 'Paint It Black', 'Jumping Jack Flash', 'Tumbling Dice', and 'It’s Only Rock ‘N’ Roll'. Roskilde's main 'Orange Stage' was originally designed for a The Rolling Stones tour back in the '70s.
Roskilde is continental Europe's biggest festival, and offers a variety of international acts and four days of music from Thursday 3rd until Sunday 4th July 2014. There are also warm up events which run from Sunday 29th June until the start of the festival.
Previously confirmed are Arctic Monkeys, Damon Albarn, Deerhunter, Interpol, Warpaint, Carcass, Cyril Hahn, Dilated Peoples, HAIM, Mo, Nails, Rob Zombie, Lykke Li, I Break Horses, Samaris, Say Lou Lou, Corrections House, The Black Dahlia Murder, Pusha T, Trentemoller, , Major Lazer, Mark Ernestus presents Jeri-Jeri, Jenny Wilson, Bombus, Hymns from Nineveh, A$AP Ferg, Earl Sweatshirt , World’s Fair, Psyched Up Janis, Fire! Orchestra, Jambinai, Blood On A Feather, Systema Solar, Black Pus, Future of the Left, Hookworms, Julia Holter and Merchandise. With many more acts to be confirmed.
Plus Förtress, Get Your Gun, Mont Oliver, My Heart the Brave, Narcosatanicos, Ra, The Divers, Heimatt, Hexis, Karl William, Kill J and Könsförrädare are added to the Rising Stage line-up, and Brynjolfur, Kant, Shadow Shadow, S!vas, Slick Shoota, Snavs, Bloksberg, DNKL, Franskild, Iberia, Nause, Pandreas and Unkwon for the Apollo Countdown stage.
