Liverpool Sound City has announced that special guests The Kooks will top the bill at the closing night party of the festival which takes place at Thursday 1st to Saturday 3rd May 2014 to multiple venues and spaces in Liverpool's cultural quarter.
The gig will take place at the festival's DIY underground carpark stage, which will be transformed into a mega industrial music venue for the three days of the festival.
Alex Simmonds, Marketing Manager at Sound City, said, “This a real coup for Sound City. The Kooks are back bigger and better than ever and they are joining the best bill we’ve ever had. It’s going to be an incredible sign-off to this year’s festival.”
The Kooks join a line-up that including the likes of Kodaline, Gruff Rhys, Clean Bandit, Jagwar Ma, Public Service Broadcasting, Blood Red Shoes, Jungle, Wolf Alice, Darlia, Circa Waves, Thumpers, Jon Hopkins, Albert Hammond Jnr., The Hold Steady, Jimi Goodwin, Drenge, Mixhell, Royal Blood, The Wytches, Fat White Family, Superfood, San Farmin, Lyla Foy, East India Youth, Bipolar Sunshine,Pins, Glass Animals, Bird, Factory Floor, Ratking, Say Lou Lou, Sunshine Underground and many many more.

Three-day festival only wristbands are priced at £55 including booking fee.
During the days the Hard Days Night Hotel plays host to a musical industry conference. Each night there will be bands, DJs and artists performing at many venues, spaces and clubs throughout the city. There will be dozens of parties and gigs, including an unsigned festival featuring new acts coming into Liverpool from all over the world, and parties hosted by festivals and labels each showcasing some of their biggest names and rising stars.
