The Glade area at Glastonbury Festival will be returning to their traditional home amongst the trees at this summer's Festival.

The area has been a melting pot of experimentalism and beats since its arrival in 2000 offering a surround system and open air stage it grew out of earlier ad hoc dance parties in the Avalon Field and was created when Festival organisers Emily and Michael Eavis created the space between the Avalon Field and the site of the Dance Tent.

Michael had seen Club Dog put on an impromptu club scene party back in the 90s and was so impressed he asked the Avalon crew to put together the new area. Since then it's seen performances from members of Orbital, Eat Static, System 7, The Orb, and many more. Last year saw the first since then without a Glade presence there instead it was the 'Glade Pizza' area, as the location was too close to the new home of Arcadia. .

With the move of the mechanical beast that is Arcadia again this year (location yet to be revealed) the Glade have announced on their Facebook page (here) they will be making a welcome return this summer.
