Japan's Babymetal will make their UK debut at Sonisphere on the Sunday of the festival held at Knebworth Park, Hertfordshire as day tickets have also gone on sale.
The latest musical phenomenon to go viral is their latest single 'Gimme Chocolate!' with the teenage trio's blend of Icon Pop and Heavy Metal generating over 5 million views. Innovators will always divide opinion,their debut performance in the UK in the Bohemia tent on Sunday is sure to be rammed - get there early.
"I am so honoured that we are confirmed to play Sonisphere Festival UK.” Declares Su-Metal. "There are so many different types of artists playing this festival but I hope to deliver a one and only, unique style metal - Babymetal - even to those who will see us for the very first time.
"This will be our very first time in the UK, which makes us nervous yet excited just imagining what type of people will come and see us, what sort of show it will end up being, and whether the audience will enjoy our show.” She continues, “We'll hopefully get to see Metallica-san's performance again after witnessing them at Summer Sonic festival in Japan which we are very excited about. The Prodigy will kick off the weekend with a bang on Friday night followed by Iron Maiden on Saturday night and Metallica closing the festival on Sunday. Tickets are priced at £170 or £205 with camping, plus booking fees. A car parking pass is £18 and a campervan pass is £65.
Friday tickets are priced at £55 and Saturday or Sunday tickets are priced at £75.
There is also a deposit scheme available for a first non-refundable payment of £50.
The festivals is for all ages, under 16s accompanied by an adult 18+. Children under 5 are not advised but will be admitted. The campsite will opens on Thursday 3rd July at 1pm and will close at midday on Monday 7th July with the arena opening at 10am on Friday 4th July.
