The first acts have been confirmed for next year's Fairport's Cropredy Convention the annual shindig hosted by Fairport Convention who will make two appearances opening the festival and closing the show with friends as is traditional.

On Thursday Fairport's acoustic opening show will be followed by Trad Arrr, a brand new ensemble led by PJ Wright, who are billed to put the rock into folk-rock.

Returning on the same day to Cropredy will be Dreadzone with their festival farourite mix of dub, reggae, and dance music, and Norwegian female quartet Katzenjammer .

On Friday The Proclaimers take the stage, with Fish, and Scotland's Skerryvore also confirmed.

On Saturday Toyah, makes her Cropredy debut and Rory Gallagher's former backing musicians, Band of Friends will take to the stage with ex-Fairport member Dan ArBras to celebrate Rory's life and music.

Cropredy will also present a set by the winner of the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award. The rest of the line-up, including the Thursday and Friday headliners, will be announced in January 2015.

The annual festival of folk and rock music is held on the edge of the village of Cropredy, and run by Fairport Convention. This year's 35th anniversary of the festival will take place from Thursday 13th to Saturday 15th August 2015.

Ticket prices have not yet been announced. Tickets for Fairport's Cropredy Convention will go on sale for a limited period in time for Christmas. Fairport's online box office will open for one week from tomorrow, Monday, 15th December until Sunday 21st December then reopen in February 2015.
