Buzzcocks, The Sugarhill Gang, Grandmaster Melle Mel + Scorpio (Furious 5), Martha Reeves and The Vandellas, West Street Mob, Billy Bragg, Dutch Uncles, and Slaves are among the first acts confirmed for Tramlines festival which returns for a seventh year between Friday 24th and Sunday 26th July 2015 at various venues and open spaces across Sheffield.
Other acts confirmed today are Jagaara, Marika Hackman, Roman Flugel, Knifeworld, Blanck Mass, Gulf, And So I Watch You From Afar, Hey Sholay, Nai Harvest, Portico, Robyn Sherwell, Shopping, Tropics, and Walls.
Tramlines gives festival-goers a chance to see established artists alongside up and coming acts, across four outdoor stages with the main stage sitting on Devonshire Green, and over 70 venues including the Leadmill, Foundry/Fusion, Octagon, o2 Academy, Hope Works, The Harley, Queens Social Club, City Hall, Cathedral, Yellow Arch, The Night Kitchen, Millennium Galleries, and Corporation.
Tickets are priced at £30. Children aged under 12 years can attend for free.
The festival includes stages, venues and themed trails that will take you to every corner of the city. The festival site (Sheffield) is easily reached by the UK road and rail networks.
Tramlines festival director Sarah Nulty said, "The 2014 lineup was one of our best ever so we knew we’d set the bar high for this year, and we think we’ve done it again with the legendary likes of Buzzcocks and Sugarhill Gang. We pride ourselves on being a 'discovery’’ festival where people can seek out established talent alongside breaking talent and are excited to share more big and brand-new names for the festival."
