Glastonbury Festival are in discussions with Young Greens to run a pilot to transform Glastonbury camping into community driven sustainable villages, they announced news of their plans (here), saying,

"Young Greens are in discussions with Glastonbury Festival about the possibility of an exciting opportunity to get involved in some dramatic social change at the Festival this June! We hope to be proving a pilot to transform Glastonbury camping into community driven sustainable villages.

"We'll need enthusiastic Young Greens to live amongst the campers and develop 'village life' that makes camping at Glastonbury a better experience for festival goers and also ensures each village is proud to really "love the farm, leave no trace."

" If you could commit to a training day and a week of self sufficient camping from 19th June and preparation before the festival and if you care about sustainability, deeply value community and believe that through cooperation we can achieve lasting and much needed social change then register your interest for an application form here: glastonbury@younggreens.org.uk and keep your eyes peeled on the Young Greens site for more information about what you will need to do next."

More of what the Green Initiatives team will be bringing to the Festival will be revealed nearer June.
