Stornoway to headline Purbeck Valley Folk Festival

Purbeck Folk Festival have announced Stornoway will be headlining, with Caravan of Thieves, Cardboard Fox, Flats & Sharps, and Beth Porter and The Availables also added to the line-up for the festival which takes place in the Purbeck Hills, in Dorset over the weekend of Thursday 27th until Sunday 30th August 2015.

The quirky four-piece have an eagerly awaited third album released this month.

Festival director Catherine Burke, said, "We have a broad definition of folk music at Purbeck Valley and Stornoway with great songwriting and interesting use of instruments, are a perfect fit. The songs on the new album are great and I can't wait to hear them all live at our little festival."

The festival which will be held at Purbeck Valley Farm, near Swanage will also see Chris Difford, Justin Currie, Richard Thompson, Kathryn Tickell & The Side, Megson, Martha Tilston & The Scientists, Phillip Henry and Hannah Martin, and Moulettes top the bill with Amaraszi, Steve Tilston, CoCo and the Butterfields, Crossharbour, Keston Cobblers Club, Belinda O'Hooley & Heidi Tidow, Quinns Quinney, Fearne, Kadia, Catherine Burke, Roger Davies, Lily of Barbary, Tom Clements,  and more.

Now in its seventh year, Purbeck Folk Festival’s line-up offers an eclectic mix of original young folk, established roots, traditional and world music in a family-friendly environment. The four stages are contained in the farm’s barns and a marquee venue that hosts the Purbeck Rising final and open mic sessions.

Weekend tickets (Fri-Sun) include free camping and are on sale now priced at £100 (youth £50, children over three £20). A limited number of Festival day
tickets will also be available.

A campervan of caravan pass is priced at £10 per vehicle.
