If you’d like to buy a ticket for Glastonbury Festival 2016 you must have been registered. Online registration closed at 9am, today, Tuesday 29th September, and will now remain closed until after this Sunday's main ticket sale.
To prevent touting Festival goers must register in advance for tickets which are non-transferable. Each ticket features the photograph of the registered ticket holder with security checks carried out to ensure that only the person in the photograph is admitted to the Festival.
Registration does not mean you have bought a ticket, but you can't buy a ticket without a registration number, Festival goers over the age of 12 must be registered.
While the bulk of Glastonbury tickets go on sale at 9am on Sunday 4th October, those travelling to the festival by coach will be allowed to book theirs four days in advance.
Those who have registered can reserve tickets with a deposit of £50 and cost a total of £228 each (plus a £5 booking fee). Festival goers opting for the coach package will pay extra for transport.
15,000 coach and ticket packages will be sold in advance of the general sale at 7pm on Thursday 1st October as part of the festivals commitment to green travel.
Along with their deposit of £50 per person, those booking coach packages will be required to pay the full coach ticket price for their journey.
A list of pick-up locations and prices is available here.
Both kinds of tickets can be booked in groups of six at a time. There will then be no further UK or International payments taken until the booking site re-opens on the first week of April 2016 when deposit purchasers will have one week to pay the balance of £178 per ticket, and to book everything else they might need (parking, and insurance).
Tickets for Worthy View, the pre-erected camp site offering a range of British-made traditional scout tents, bell tents, tipi tents and small yurts are likely to go on sale a couple of weeks after the ticket sales. For the first time this year you will also be able to book campervan tickets and tipis in this sale.
Glastonbury Festival will take place on 2,000 acres around a farm in Pilton, Somerset over five full days from Wednesday 23rd until Sunday 27th June 2016. There are no acts confirmed yet for 2016.
