Glastonbury Festival's online eBay auction of unique Glastonbury Festival and Worthy Farm experiences raised £105, 674 for Oxfam’s Refugee Crisis Emergency Appeal.

Festival organisers have announced, "We're very pleased to report that our auction and raffle raised more than £105,000 for Oxfam's refugee appeal. Enormous thanks to everyone who contributed, it really will make a big difference. (The winners have all now been contacted.)"

There were ten lots in the auction, including five pairs of Glastonbury 2016 tickets with extras such as the chance to DJ at the festival, press the Arcadia Spider’s fire button from the DJ booth, watch a set from the side of the Pyramid Stage or introduce an act on the Cabaret Stage. In addition, entrants to the free online raffle for a pair of tickets were asked to make a suggested donation of £5 to further boost the appeal.

Oxfam is coming to the aid of refugees from many parts of the world. The charity’s Refugee Crisis Emergency Appeal is helping Syrian refugees in Lebanon and Jordan providing life saving water and sanitation. It’s also giving essential support to refugee families in Europe handing out food, clothes, shoes and personal hygiene kits.

Jack Lundy, Oxfam’s Director of Communications said, "Thanks to Glastonbury and the generosity of the music-loving public, we have raised an incredible sum to kick start the Crisis Emergency Appeal. We are incredibly grateful to have such committed supporters, who, like us, refuse to live with poverty or suffering."

In other news Festival founder Michael Eavis celebrated his 80th birthday last weekend - with an impromptu concert from Coldplay's Chris Martin, as well as performances by Festival regulars Lily Allen, and Billy Bragg.
