Glastonbury Festival's spoken word acts line-up revealed in Poetry & Words Tent

story tellers, lyricists, troubadours, raconteurs, stand-up poets and slam champs

The line-up of story tellers, lyricists, troubadours, raconteurs, stand-up poets at Glastonbury Festival's Poetry & Words Tent has been revealed. The tent which is located in Bella's Field posted the line-up on their Facebook page (here).

On Friday the stage will host Buddy Wakefield, Jemima Foxtrot, Jess Green And The Mischief Thieves, Zohab Khan, Elvis McGonagall, Sara Hirsch, Keisha Thompson, Michelle Madsen, Mighty Mike McGee, Iona Lee, Toby Campion, Brenda Ray, Dominic Berry, Kevin P. Gilday, The Antipoet, and Poetry Can F*Ck Off .

Topping the line-up on Saturday is John Hegley, with a bill including Scott Tyrrell, Brenda Ray, Kevin P. Gilday, Zohab Khan, Luke Wright, Jess Green And The Mischief Thieves, Toby Campion, Megan Beech, Jemima Foxtrot, JJ Bola, Open Mic (Hosted by Dominic Berry), Sara Hirsch, The Antipoet, and Poetry Can F*Ck Off .

On Sunday it's the turn of Glastonbury Festival Poetry Slam (Hosted by Michelle Madsen & Iona Lee), Rory Jones, Scott Tyrrell, Jodi Ann Bickley (Website Poet In Residence), Attila the Stockbroker, Tanya Evanson, Mighty Mike McGee, Murray Lachlan-Young, Keisha Thompson, JJ Bola, The Antipoet, and Poetry Can F*Ck Off .

Plus wandering poetry from Winston Plowes, and Rowan McCabe, and MC's Sally Jenkinson, and Dreadlockalien.

In other news last year (2015), Glastonbury Festival was, once again, able to give over £2 million to their supported causes, the three main supported causes – Oxfam, Greenpeace, WaterAid and also hundreds of worthy causes, schools and sports groups.

Over the past three years they have been able to make donations to Oxfam, Greenpeace, and WaterAid of £3.75 million; and over £6 million in total to worthy causes, both local and international, since the Festival's last fallow year in 2012.

Tickets for Glastonbury Festival have sold out. This year's full line-up is yet to be announced.

The Friday headliners are Muse, Adele tops the bill on Saturday and Coldplay on Sunday, plus PJ Harvey, Jeff Lynne's Electric Light Orchestra, Art Garfunkel, Cyndi Lauper, Earth, Wind & Fire, The Last Shadow Puppets, Sigur Ros, Ronnie Spector, Ellie Goulding, Explosions In The Sky, Foals, Beck, LCD Soundsystem, ZZ Top, Disclosure, New Order, Skepta, The 1975, Grimes, Annie Mac, Syrian National Orchestra for Arabic Music, Underworld, James Blake, Chvrches, Savages, Floating Points, Laura Mvula, Stormzy, Daughter, Little Simz, Vince Staples, John Grant, Band of Horses, Jess Glynne, Carl Cox, Nao, Fatboy Slim, Bring Me The Horizon, Richard Hawley, The Lumineers, Lady Leshurr, Rokia Traore, Guy Garvey, Kamasi Washington, Jack Garratt, AlunaGeorge, Hinds, Ezra Furman, M83, Kurt Vile (solo), Mercury Rev, Gregory Porter, Madness, Wolf Alice, Baaba Maal, Ernest Ranglin, Bastille, Roisin Murphy, Santigold, Years And Years, Dua Lipa, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Bat For Lashes, Protoje, Two Door Cinema Club, Jake Bugg, Mac DeMarco, St Etienne, Blossoms, Of Monsters and Men, and Lapsley.. Plus the entrants for the Emerging Talent competition Bossy Love, Early Ghost, Gillbanks, Hattie Whitehead, Henry Green, Lady Sanity, Marcus McCoan, and She Drew The Gun.
