Already confirmed to bring the KelisxLeBun collaboration to Standon Calling, held in the grounds of the 16th Century Hertfordshire manor house from Friday 29th to Sunday 31st July 2016, festival organisers have announced their headliner and culinary queen will be arriving early for The Welcome Feast. In a festival exclusive Kelis will host a live Q&A with fans along with a signing of her book 'My Life On A Plate' at the launch night of the festival.

For the first time ever Standon Calling will open its doors early on Thursday afternoon and evening billed as The Welcome Feast now adds even more reasons to head to Standon Calling this year. Food and drink will be available and traders will be offering smaller dishes of their signature dishes for £5 and under for hungry festival-goers that really want to take advantage of the feast. The Welcome Feast will include Wandering Musicians playing acoustic folk and sea shanties along with Songs around the Campfire. Family activities and games are also on offer and the Hot Tubs and Piano Bar provide respite from the action for those that like to relax before the full festival proper begins.

A Le Courdon Bleu trained chef, Kelis will give revellers the chance to try out her culinary skills, ask questions to the singer-turned chef before she headlines the festival's Main Stage in on Sunday night. The star will get stuck in to the action as she joins The Welcome Feast's selection of street food traders to serve up the best in South-American cuisine - with the help of pop-up icons Le Bun - who have come together and created a bespoke menu ahead of Standon Calling.

Kelis commented, "Getting to spend a month in the UK cooking and performing really has been the best of both parts of my world. It’s been so fun putting together the menu and cooking with Chef Andy from Le Bun. Our meeting, and then our collaboration, all originated from the fact that we were both going to be at Standon Calling this year so we’re very excited to bring all that we’ve been working to everyone there."

The Welcome Feast takes place Thursday 28th July, tickets £20. Available for one evening or as an early entry ticket for weekend tickets-holders.
