Muse have been announced as the first headline act for next year's Reading and Leeds Festivals which happens annually over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
Muse commented, "We’re very excited to be playing Reading and Leeds again. More news about our plans for 2017 coming in the new year."
Also confirmed are Major Lazer (a UK festival exclusive), Bastille, Tory Lanez, At the Drive-In, Architects (a UK festival exclusive), Glass Animals, Andy C, Danny Brown, Against The Current, and While She Sleeps.
Melvin Benn added, "I'm thrilled to be able to announce Muse as the first headliner for Reading and Leeds 2017. Their incredible live show promises to be an unforgettable performance - we have so much more to announce and I can’t wait to reveal the rest of the line up."
Reading Festival takes place at Little Johns Farm, Richfield Avenue, Reading, Berkshire, and Leeds Festival takes place at Bramham Park, Leeds, West Yorkshire with both events happening over the weekend of Thursday 24th to Sunday 27th August 2017.

Weekend tickets are priced at £205. A Wednesday early entry permit is priced at £20, a campervan pass is £75, and a locker is priced at £16, and a car park pass is for Reading is priced at £10. Prices do not include booking fees.
Day tickets are priced at £59.50.
Children under 13 (12 and under) are admitted free but MUST be accompanied by a ticket holding adult. Please note there is no separate children's area at this event, and eFestivals considers this an event not really suitable for small children.
