Foo Fighters finally made their return to Glastonbury Festival headlining the Main Stage to a large crowd, and delivering a singalong crowd-pleasing set which set the audience up for more revelling into the night at the late night areas.
The other highlights around the site yesterday included a packed crowd for Liam Gallagher who presented his mew material along with acapella Oasis singalongs. Toots and The Maytals failed to make an appearance to a large expectant West Holts crowd. It was Jeremy Corbyn's address from the Pyramid Stage that proved a predictable draw. Speaking of the importance of the arts, and thanking Michael Eavis for providing a forum for music and poetry to flourish along with highlighting causes close to his heart in CND, Greenpeace, and Water Aid. Corbyn quoted Shelley and was well received.
Overall with such dry footing the popular areas drew large crowds, and there were more people than the previous muddy festivals enjoying the festival once the showers of the morning had dissipated, though failing to dampen The Bootleg Beatles and Pepperland Sinfonia's opening Pyramid set of Sgt. Pepper classics.
Today festival goers have their last chance to visit the new Cinemageddon area, hire some headphones and sink into a movie. Explore the Greenfields, the healing fields, have a cider bus mulled cider, watch the sunset from the views by Trickett's, enjoy some circus or theatre, dance under the stars, and enjoy the music.
With a mostly dry night forecast it looks like this year's Festival is set to end on a high. With a fallow year next year it's the final hurrah topped by a singalong with the likes of headliner Ed Sheeran, or Biffy Clyro, perhaps Chic or a Bee Gee, or a dance with Justice, Boy Better Know or go further with System 7. The crowds are likely to be busy, so build extra time into your journey. Let's make Glastonbury Festival of Performing Arts 2017 the best ever.
