WOMAD - World of Music, Arts and Dance - held at Charlton Park, near Malmesbury, in Wiltshire from Thursday 27th to Sunday 30th July 2017 has announced some more acts who will be appearing over the weekend.
Added to the bill are Brazil's Seu Jorge who will be playing his only UK festival at WOMAD, the Malagasy super group Toko Telo, Finnish folk band Varttina Vocal Trio, folk-oriented Spanish talent Prexton, UK confessional hip-hop from Loyle Carner, African-American DJ and producer Mark Underwood's latest project Ife, Junun ft. Shye Ben Tzur & The Rajasthan Express, and Brazilian-born DJ Markey and MC GQ.
These join the acts previously confirmed music acts, who include Toots & the Maytals, Goat, Oumou Sangare, Eliza Carthy and The Wayward Band, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Benjamin Zephaniah & The Revolutionary Minds, Afro Celt Sound System, Roy Ayers with Seun Kuti And Egypt 80, Emir Kusturica & The No Smoking Orchestra, Shobaleader One, Alsarah & the Nubatones, Bixiga 70, Inna De Yard All-Stars, (members of) The Orchestra of Syrian Musicians, Trembling Bells, Khmer Rouge Survivors, Bokante, and many more. The full line-up will feature around 100 artists from 40 countries performing over the festival weekend. Many more acts are still to be confirmed - expect the most eclectic line-up anywhere in the UK.
Weekend tickets - which are valid from the Friday until Sunday are priced at £175, or a four day ticket for Thursday arrivals is £210.
