Many more acts have been revealed for the third edition of Bluedot, which takes place at Jodrell Bank Observatory, in Cheshire, from Thursday 19th to Sunday 22nd July 2018.
The new acts include legendary shoegaze act Slowdive who released their 4th album "Slowdive" last year, after reuniting in 2014. Also announced are George FitzGerald, who will perform following the release of his second album "All That Must Be" in March, Crazy P and their blend of house, disco and soul, Bugged Out!, Craig Charles performing Space Funk Odyssey, Dub Pistols, Ana Matronic, Afriquoi, Nabihah Iqbal, Boy Azooga, Late Night Tales DJs, Science in the House, Algorave, Cruel World, Plastic Mermaids, Fwar, Warmduscher, Banana Hill, Re-TROS, Amber Arcades, The Long Now, Little Cub, Cosmic Strip, Drahla, Tomorrow We Sail, Chaouche, Outliers, and Acid Mothers Temple.
They join a line-up that already included headliners The Chemical Brothers, The Flaming Lips, and Future Islands, as well as Gary Numan, Little Dragon, Roni Size, Gilles Peterson, UNKLE, Booka Shade, The Orb, Public Service Broadcasting, Little Dragon, Baloji, Adrian Sherwood, Mad Professor, Hookworms, Vessels, Langham Research Centre, Snapped Ankles, Pearl City, Human After All (A Tribute To Daft Punk), Future Get Down, Fehm, Age Of Glass, Look Mum No Computer, Henge, Nadine Shah, Lost Horizons, Space Cassette DJs, Talos 400, Alexis Taylor, Andy Smith's Reach Up Disco Wonderland, Will Tramp, To Kill A King, Warm Digits, Park Hotel, AKDK, Husky Loops, Pink Kink, JW Ridley, Speakmansound, and Barberos.
Today also sees a number of new speakers confirmed, with Rick Edwards and Michael Brooks, AC Grayling, Nick Tandavanitj, Jana Winderen, Dallas Campbell, Professor Jim Al-Khalili, Tim O'Brien, Tamsin Edwards, Alice Eldrige, and Dr Sheena Cruickshank all helping Bluedot's campaign to bring science to the masses. They join the previously announced Professor Alice Roberts, Libby Jackson, Professor Dave Goulson, Suzie Imber, and Stephen Wilkins.
Comedians at the festival will include:- David O'Doherty, Casetteboy, Simon Munnery, Gary Delaney, Jess Fostekew, and Rob Kemp.
Tickets are on sale, currently priced as follows:-
adult 3-day (Fri-Sun): £159
teen (aged 11-15) 3-day (Fri-Sun): £79
child (aged 6-10) 3-day (Fri-Sun): £25
infant (aged up-to 5) 3-day (Fri-Sun): free but needs ticket
Thursday add-on: £29 for weekend ticket holders; £35 as standalone ticket.
