The 54th Cambridge Folk Festival, which take place from Thursday 2nd until Sunday 5th August 2018, at Cherry Hinton Hall Grounds, in Cambridge has Rhiannon Giddens ads it's guest curator this year, and Rhiannon's chosen acts have been revealed.

From both sides of the the Atlantic are American folk singer Peggy Seeger (pictured above), Appalachian and Canadian folk music from Kaia Kater, Americana, Roots and Rock n’ Roll Poetry from Birds of Chicago, ‘Southern Gothic’ alt-country blues singer/songwriter Amythyst Kiah, and the UK's Americana singer-songwriter Yola Carter.

Rhiannon Giddens commented: "When I was asked 'Do you want to curate the Cambridge Folk Festival?', I remember being immediately interested. I didn't really know what curating was at the time, but I loved the Festival so much I thought anything that would have me coming back is a really good thing. Then I found out I'd get to be there the whole time, I never get to do that! Usually I perform my set and am out the next day, so to have an opportunity to actually be somewhere for four days. I wanted to experience the whole thing, it's irresistible."

These join acts including headliners First Aid Kit, Patti Smith & her band, and John Prine, with other confirmed acts including Janis Ian (UK festival exclusive), Rosanne Cash, Kate Rusby & Friends, Beth Nielsen Chapman, Eliza Carthy and The Wayward Band, blues legend Eric Bibb, Americana pioneer Rhiannon Giddens, Songhoy Blues, St Paul and The Broken Bones, Elephant Sessions, John Smith, Pierce Brothers, and many more. For all the details so far including day and stage splits please see the line-up page.
