The first wave of acts have been announced for the 6th edition of Electric Fields, which will take place on a new date earlier in the summer from Thursday 4th until Saturday 6th July 2019, at 17th century Drumlanrig Castle, Thornhill, Dumfries and Galloway, in Scotland.
Headlining will be Metronomy, Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls, and The Vaccines, while other acts over the the 3 days are Friendly Fires, Sleaford Mods, Fat White Family, Nadine Shah, Skatalites, and The Futureheads. There's also Kero Kero Bonito, Malcolm Middleton, Free Love, The Spook School, Our Girl, Gently Tender, Heavy Lungs, Onr, FUR, Vistas, Honey Lung, Heavy Rapids, Squid, The Van T's, Alligator, Bad Nerves, HYYTS, 13 Crowes, Emme Woods, Snack Villain, Fauves, Slime City, Lee Clark, Tiderays, The Lutras, Voodoos, Snash, The Mind Sweepers, Kasama, Kate Kyle, and Frozen Shores.
For extras, Sneaky Pete's presents Athens of the North, Hot Mess, Lala b2b Liam Doc, Ida's Acid Flash, Miss World, Soul Jam, Headset's Gay Garage, Popular Music, Heaters, Definition, and Club Mediterraneo. There's also comedy, from John Gavin, Billy Kirkwood, Donald Alexander, Stephen Buchanan, Ruth Cockburn, and Krystal Evans.
With more to be announced, the festival also features Edinburgh’s spoken word collective Neu! Reekie!, and the dedicated Our Kids Electric area is a constant source of fun & excitement for the little ones
Festival co-founder Nick Roberts said: "We're delighted to be back for another year, with an amazing lineup of artists we love. As ever we've got some of the best headliners going matched with the finest up and coming bands from around the country, combining for what will be a totally brilliant three days. We're also very excited to be taking place in July for the first time which we're sure will make it a scorcher - here's to a hot, music filled weekend of fun!"
Tickets are on sale now priced at £120 for 3 days plus camping. Tickets for 13 - 15 year olds are £50, £20 for 6 - 12 and those 5 and under are free.
