The headliners and much more has been revealed for next year's Camp Bestival, which takes place from Thursday 29th July until Sunday 1st August 2021 at Lulworth Castle, Dorset.
With the 'Movies' theme originally planned for 2020, Camp Bestival co-curators Josie & Rob da Bank say: “Take two indeed! Take one was looking pretty good through the lens but take two is taking things to a whole new level with some amazing new additions to our cast. Step up very special guest Kelis making a huge comeback at the moment, the best maître d’ in the world Fred Sirieix helping us curate our food offerings, add in Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess live, a proper standalone comedy tent, a new clubby space for parents and teens and loads more fresh ideas … and, of course, the fans’ favourite Venagboys are back. We asked you guys and you voted for the return of the Vengabus. We want Camp Bestival 2021 to be the best family festival you’ve ever witnessed, so we hope to see you at the Castle!”
Topping the bill on Saturday is Fatboy Slim, preceded by spacial guests Friendly Fires, while Friday is topped by Becky Hill, and including Kelis, and Sophie Ellis-Bextor ft Sink The Pink. There's also music from Groove Armada, Level 42, Georgia, Biig Piig, Deco, DJ Yoda presents: Filmstock, Dub Pistols, Gengahr, Heather Small, Louise Redknapp, Mae Muller, Max & Harvey, R.A.E, Reef, S Club Party, Self Esteem, Space, Tamzene, The Cuban Brothers, The Selecter, The Sherlocks, The Sugarhill Gang - Furious 5 ft Grandmaster Melle Mel & Scorpio, The Wurzels, Tim Burgess, Vengaboys, Bowie Disco, Craig Charles, David Rodigan, DJ Yoda presents: Filmstock, Fleetmac Wood, Hungry Heart, Iraina Mancini, Jaguar Skills, Jo Whiley's 90s Anthems, Klaus Blatter, Krafty Kuts, LTJ Bukem, Norman Jay, Sara Cox, and Steve Davis & Kavus Torabi.
There's family entertainment from Dick & Dom, live scientists Brainiac Live, Ceebies legends Mr Tumble, Mister Maker & Rebecca Keatley, Andy and the Odd Socks, and Sam & Mark, singalong joy with the BRIT School, and performing arts amusements from Stagecoach, plus Art, Science, Dance & Circus Workshops, and kiddie friendly techno-colour courtesy of Big Fish Little Fish, and Junior Jungle. There's also comedy and spoken word appearances from Trigger Happy TV’s Dom Joly, award winning author Irvine Welsh, Scummy Mummies, Man Vs. Baby, TheDadLab and Wacaday mainstay Timmy Mallett!
New attractions for 2021 include the Full Moon Cinema, a Cirque Bijou High Wire Spectacular, and a new comedy venue, ‘the Giggle Box’. Head to Slow Motion to enjoy yoga, breathwork including an appearance from Richie ‘the breath guy’ Bostock, meditation, sound healing, ayurvedic workshops, and a sleep retreat. Or set your pulses racing with Fit Camp including wild runs, HIIT & family boxing, and a holistic triathlon, and Wild Tribe has earthy and earthly activities including the Big Build, Water Slides & Ziplines With Woodland Tribe, Spinney Hollow Craft Village, Mossy Crow, Bushcraft, Bivouac & Fire Building, Interactive Theatre and Calm Spaces.
