Richard Ashcroft pulls out of Tramlines due to Government Test Event status

replaced by Supergrass as Sunday headliner

Richard Ashcroft has withdrawn from Tramlines Festival due to its status as a "Government Test Event. The festival takes place at Hillsborough Park, Sheffield from Friday 23rd to 25th July 2021 and will now have Supergrass as the Sunday headliner.

Posting on his instagram page, Richard Ashcroft said:

"Apologies to my fans for any disappointment but the festival was informed over 10 days ago that I wouldn’t be playing once it had become part of a government testing programme. I had informed my agent months ago I wouldn’t be playing concerts with restrictions The status of the festival was one thing when I signed up for it, but , sadly was forced to become something else. It must be an age thing but the words Government Experiment and Festival 😂😂😂#naturalrebel #theydontownme RA"

Tramlines are offering a short period of a refund, their website states:

"If you had specifically purchased a Weekend or Sunday Day ticket to see Richard Ashcroft you will be able to request a face value refund. To do this, please email customerservices[at]gigantic[dot]com by 12pm (noon) on Thursday 8th July. You will need to include your booking reference number and the date that you purchased your ticket."

Final and resale tickets go on sale on Friday 9th July at 12pm, they will be priced as follows:
Weekend: £130
Day tickets: from £45.
Under-12s: £10
Aged 4 & under: £3
