Boomtown Festival 2023 update

As Glastonbury tickets go on sale this week, here's  you an update on Boomtown Festival, in case you were considering alternative festivals. Boomtown is one of the UK’s largest immersive theatre and music festivals. The 66,000 capacity, five day experience combines fully immersive, groundbreaking theatrical concepts with a multi-genre, diverse musical offering.

Shortlisted for Best Production at this years’ UK Festival Awards (winners not yet announced), Boomtown is recognised for its high production value through nine unique districts with streets to wander along with huge, boundary pushing stages and spectacles.

The pop-up ‘City’ has an ever-evolving storyline that ‘citizens’ can join in with and interact with hundreds of actors to complete games, driving the story further through interaction.

Boomtown keeps the line-up a secret until shortly before the event, but the festival showcases the very best in world-renowned and underground artists from across the spectrum spanning reggae, roots and folk, to drum and bass, techno, jungle and more.

Boomtown has an ongoing environmental priority, having signed a pledge in 2019 to become Net Zero Scope 1 & 2 by 2025. The festival aims to become completely circular by this date, turning Boomtown into a sustainable city that is run entirely on renewable energy, and where organisers and citizens reject a throwaway society.
