Yorkshire pop goddess 'Self Esteem' AKA Rebecca Lucy Taylor has been confirmed as the latest headliner to take part in Sheffield’s Rock N Roll Circus this year at Don Valley Bowl on Saturday 2nd September.
This announcement comes on the back of two consecutive sell-out shows for Self Esteem at O2 Academy Sheffield, giving music fans in Yorkshire another chance to see one of the UK’s most acclaimed new artists.
Self Esteem is a name on everybody's lips right now. From her Meadowhall-inspired corset stealing the show at Glastonbury last summer to her most recent tour, Rebecca Lucy Taylor is in high demand.
As Self Esteem, Rebecca Taylor has shaken off the shackles of her indie band past to become the unapologetic pop star she always wanted to be. With her 2019 statement debut 'Compliments Please', Taylor gave voice to the feelings of insecurity and misogyny-induced frustration that many of us face every day, emboldening a whole new audience with powerful, truth-telling lyricism.
Self Esteem's second studio album, the Mercury Prize nominated 'Prioritise Pleasure' released late October 2021 propelled the Rotherham born Taylor onto the global stage.
Self Esteem's ability to convey feeling across all facets of the performance - from choreography to outfit changes to her lyricism and wall-to-wall pop bangers – has earned her plaudits from all corners and she can't wait to head to Sheffield this September to play for another eager Yorkshire crowd in what is poised to be a pivotal year for the artist.
