Barry Can't Swim, Eric Prydz, and Fatboy Slim are to rock your nights at the renewed Arcadia, with an array of new activities to also keep you dancing during the day.
Despite the big acts announced to hit the stage this year, much of the focus is on Arcadia's signature biomechanical mascot. The famous and much-loved, fire-spitting, laser-shooting spider has hung up its web as there's a new bug in town.
The new creature is a dragonfly, in the festival organiser's own words "a giant biomechanical creature, will awaken at the heart of an evolved geometric space, exploring ideas around renewal, our relationship with technology and how we adapt to a changing climate".
A retired Royal Navy helicopter - thought to be a Sea King - is to be the husk of the new arrival at Arcadia. Despite just being incredibly cool, using a decomissioned weapon of war as an art installation is poignant in its meaning - repurposing and renewal.
Using a dragonfly as a symbol is significant in another way. It represents a new season and renewal across several cultures. To awaken the beast, a daily ritual will be performed by the representatives of the Wadjuk Noongar nation of Australia who will perform Warralloo. We're sure it will be absolutely spectacular and is a must-see for this year's festival.
Arcadia will be open during the daytime too, offering a range of activities for families and kids.
Several areas have now announced their initial lineup for this year's festival: The Park, Arcadia, Acoustic, Field Of Avalon, Shangri-La, The Glade, Unfairground, West Holts, Silver Hayes, Woodsies, Left Field, The Common, Croissant Neuf, Strummerville, Glasto Latino, Pilton Palais, Theatre & Circus, and Kidzfield.
These acts will be joining Dua Lipa, Coldplay, and SZA who will be headlining the festival's main Pyramid Stage as announced on Thursday the 14th of March 2024.
