the eFestivals difference

why we're number one in the UK

Thursday 15th January 2009

eFestivals is different to other festival websites ...
  • eFestivals is a true labour of love.
It's the only major UK-based festivals website came about from a true love of festivals and not to cash in from the popularity of festivals.

  • eFestivals supports festivals large and small.
They all have a valid place in the calendar, and each deserves an equal chance to get your interest, and all are given this equal opportunity by eFestivals. Why would a festivals website do anything else?

  • eFestivals gives independent and honest reporting on festivals.
We'll never "sell out" our editorial stance - unlike others, we don't and won't ever take money to put festivals or music information in front of your eyes. We value our independent stance, and it seems that you do too. Thanks!

  • There's no 'cut & paste' news stories here.
Each news story on eFestivals is our own work. You won't find identically-worded articles elsewhere, apart from when other unscrupulous websites have lifted content from eFestivals'.

  • eFestivals will always let the truth get in the way of a good story.
The music industry is full of hype, and hype doesn't necessarily reflect the truth. We write how things really are, not how some would like it said to try and get your money.

  • eFestivals credits sources.
It's the right and proper thing to do, and what we expect of others. We don't think you can trust those who present other's stories as their own - if they're doing that, what else are they mis-representing?

  • eFestivals is where the action is.
eFestivals is staffed by experienced festival go-ers. Our staff are there to enjoy the festival to the full just like you, so you won't find us posing backstage, you'll find us where the action is - out front!

  • eFestivals puts something back: charitable donations.
We're committed to donating around 1% of our yearly turnover (turnover, not profit) as cash to charities and good causes. Donations have been made to various charities, with the main beneficiary each year being WaterAid.

  • eFestivals puts something back: festival sponsorship.
We're committed to spending around 10% of our yearly turnover sponsoring festivals. With our help, the festivals we sponsor are able to put on even better events, meaning even more fun for you! (see Festival Sponsorship for more details).

  • eFestivals is the number one music festivals website in the UK.
We have more than double the unique readers each month than our nearest competitor, and we're even hot on the heels of nme.com. But don't take our word for it: just ask festival go-ers which festivals website they read!

  • eFestivals doesn't want...
... to interfere with festivals: we want festival organisers to organise their own great events for festival go-ers to enjoy. We don't want to run our own events, or tell festival organisers who to book - that's their job, and when they get it right, they get the praise and thanks of festival go-ers.

  • eFestivals is carbon neutral.
We are committed to reducing our energy consumption and our emissions, and to offset the emissions we create. We also encourage our suppliers to do the same. See here for more.
