The Innocent Village Fete '08

The Innocent Village Fete takes place right in the heart of London, in Regent's Park on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd August.

Live music will come from a host of artists including The James Taylor Quartet, Earl Okin, Imelda May, The Fairey Band, The Ukulele Orchestra, Christian Prommer's Drumlesson, The Boy Least Likely To, Peter & The Wolf, Son Of Dave, James Yuill, and many more. As well as live music you can expect Welly wanging, Morris dancing, duck herding, dog agility (dogs only), bicycle gymkhana, fruit and veg competition, ferret racing, cream teas, maypole dancing, coconut shy, barn dancing, tug o'war, homemade cakes, random scarecrows, village idiots, grumpy farmers, hidden bottles with prizes around the park, Yorkshire tea room, tombola, funfair rides, and lots of smoothies.

The festival will also have A big farmers' market (with stallholders from Borough Market), an Acoustic Bandstand, an al fresco ballroom, loads of stuff for kids to do (including a dedicated kids' area with kids food stalls, rides, flea circus, giant kids smoothie, and a petting zoo), a picnic area, a knitting tent, arts and crafts, literary tent, smoothie bars and sampling, real ale and cider tent, arts and crafts, a big reading area, open air yoga, massages and a feelgood area if it all gets a bit much. Plus, of course lots of smoothies.

The fete is open from 11am to 7pm on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd August, and tickets are priced at £7.50 for adults and £3.50 for kids. To buy tickets for Saturday click here, and for Sunday click here.

The innocent village fete is a non profit making event that supports Samaritans, Friends of the Earth, Wellchild and the innocent foundation.
