Sunday morning we packed up the tents, had a wander around and went in the main site for a few hours before having to get on the road, but the few acts we did get to see really left me smiling.

On arriving on site the amazing The Brass Funkeys were touring around the site guerilla gigging wherever possible, under the wall to wall blue skies it was just perfect, lazing around with an ice cream listening to their beautiful rich sound.

I took in a few songs by Sproatly Smith before going to sit down to listen to the Beautiful sounds of 4 square, the kind of band you could watch over and over, with 4 members they started slowly but ended up with a brimming tent. Starting from humble beginnings in Rochdale they have taken the folk scene by storm playing to audiences of 20,000 at Cropredy in 2009. It was a pleasure and a very special moment to see them in such a small tent on such a great weekend.

My weekend was rounded of with Little Rumba, a brilliant folk rumba band with some amazing material, with a huge sense of humour thrown in, singing about how dull life in Milton Keynes is with its concrete cows and concrete calves. To quote only one lyric. The weekend seemed to have flown by in a blink, and I only wish I could of stayed till the bitter end. This date will be going straight in my diary for future years, as I had easily my best weekend this year, with its family friendly atmosphere and ethical approach, I cannot see anyone this festival would not appeal to.

See you next year Sheep Music.
