The Aeon Festival is back for a 4th year, and takes place over three days on the August Bank Holiday from Friday 28th to Sunday 30th August, again at Shobrooke Park Estate, Crediton, Devon.

The main (Prophecy) stage will see performances from Portico Quartet, And So I Watch You From Afar, Brenda, Kava Kava, Luke Leighfield, The Breaks Collective, The Mandibles, The Kingsize Five, Evi Vine, The Hitchcock Rules, Tim and Sam's Tim and The Sam Band, Nova Robotics, Fishermans Mission, Tim Holehouse, Das Fenster, The Dharma Bums, Letters to Leaders, The Summits, Too Hot, Melosa, Peachy Farmer, The Thujones, The Madrips, The Pedaloes Bull See Red, The Quails, The Scavenger Type, Less Than Me, King Rat and The Desperados, The Love Daddies, Livin in a Valve State, and The Starkadders.

The Cabaret Voltaire Stage will host Sheelanigig, Murray Lachlan Young, Helele, The Malarchy Band, Mankala, Gringo Ska, Edenheight, Manfredi Funk Iniative, Byron Vincent, George Chopping, Barbosa, Compadres, James Harrison, Rae, Bert Miller and the Animal Folk, Scaramoose, Jude Simpson, Nathan Filer, Tim Clare, A. F. Harrold, Syd Arthur, Heavy Stylus, Mr. Puckey, Magic Hat Stand, Don Johnston, Wreckreation, Pete Canter Quartet, Kriss Foster, Dumber than the Average Bear, Fromage en Feu, RSVP BHangra, 6ix Toys, Lucy Lepchani, Sun Groove Messengers, Bucks, Mojo, Callum Mitchell, Jackie Juno, Poem Inbetween People, and DJ Brodo.

Jamthechannel guests include Elite Force, Break, Hijack, Skitz, 2 Bit Thugs, Roland The Bastard, Mike Lennon, and DJs from Beatz & Bobz, Rinseout, Jamthechannel, The Deep End, Freerange, Bad Robot, Vapour, Gobbstopper, Outofthevoid, Perspective Music, Bass Kitchen, Musicismypoison, Waxthevan, Filth Infactuated, Cabaret Voltaire, Beats Workin, Phonic FM, and more, with sound by Propa & Funktion 1, and visuals by V-Lux.

The Sika Studio crew return to Aeon with their Circus Skills and Graffiti workshops as well as a stage and soundsystem featuring: Verb T/Kashmere/Fliptrix/DJ Madnice Ramson Badbonez/DJ Gone, Children of The Damned, Rhyme asylum , Kulez/INC/Medison, Krate Krusaders, Brotherman/DJ flipz, Contact Play, The Three Amigos, The Swamps, Sleaze, and more including late night DJ sets.

The theme for 2009 is Sci-Fi Adventures, and the Magic Wardrobe will return to help with your fancy dress needs.

The Main Stage is outdoors by a lake, and will feature live bands from orchestras, folk and salsa to punk, ska, indie, electronica and more. The dance tent will have d’n’b, breakbeat, techno, reggae and more complete with visuals. The bar area has comedy, poetry, jazz bands and DJs as well as the normal bar drinks. The Cinema Tent will have animations, short films, documentaries and more. There’s also workshops and circus skills, crafts, open-mic, food, and markets.

The festival organisers are hoping for a "laid back bohemian feel to the event, in the spirit of all the original festivals before commercialism prevailed."

Tickets are on sale priced at £47 per person including camping and parking, a Thursday night set up camp, per car not per person, is an extra £5, with tickets for under 12s free. Weekend and day tickets will also be available on the gate. Price includes camper vans and caravans as well although these will be parked in a different area. Under 12s must be accompanied by a ticket holding adult/parent. Under 16s must have purchased a ticket and be accompanied by an adult over 18 in their group.

The festival area is a short walk from the main campsite. The ground is fairly level but better access and parking for disabled festival goers can be arranged in advance.

Camp fires will not be allowed on the main site or by tents but there will be a designated fire pit in the camping field for those who wish to stay up late. There will be 24hr security on both the main site and in the camping field as well as plenty of toilets.
